Case study: Marketing strategy for social enterprise

The client

A social enterprise based in Staffordshire contacted me about marketing strategy. The team usually works with its client – vulnerable children and families – face to face. However lockdown had created many opportunities for them to work with clients online and they were keen to pursue this. They were also aware of a number of funding changes in their sector and they wanted to be ready to respond. The founder had very many ideas around growing the business, while providing a consistently high quality and supportive service to clients.

My solution

They asked for my help to create a marketing strategy and action plan. I worked initially with the senior team, holding 2 online strategy workshops to brainstorm their existing service, and evaluate the potential opportunities.

The work included a full review of their existing brand, their marketing channels and content. I researched potential new markets for them. The result was a comprehensive marketing strategy with a detailed action plan.

The client then went ahead with planned recruitment for a part time marketing assistant. I provided the marketing expertise for the recruitment process to help them find the right candidate to deliver the plan.
