Celebrating 25 years as a professional introvert, with Jenny Procter

Sharing my experience as a professional introvert

I took a brave step and handed over the interviewer’s seat for this episode to my good friend Wendy Harris.

As it’s my work anniversary, I did this as a special episode as the interviewee, not the interviewer.

I was nervous to be on the other side of the mic, but it gave Wendy the chance to ask me about my 25 years in PR and marketing!

How has marketing and PR changed over 25 years?

We talked about the changes in the industry. It’s changed massively in many ways, but actually we are all still trying to achieve the same things we were in the 1990s.

My most-used phrases of “Know, Like, and Trust” and “People buy from people” are as relevant today as 25 years ago.

Listen to hear me reveal –

  • my favourite job of the last 25 years
  • why I love a client with a real purpose
  • why I never want to do a full-time job again

Marketing as an introvert

I also shared how I first knew I was an introvert, a question I usually ask my guests. This led to a complete moment of self-doubt that made me want to create marketing for introverts.

And if you are feeling swamped by all the bright and shiny marketing tactics, listen to my top tip for marketing as an introvert.
